Bldg: Tiny dwellings, but modern

“Matthew Adams outside his 120-square-foot house by Modern Cabana on his 160 acres near Red Bluff, Calif. He wanted a well-designed dwelling that would have the least effect on his land.” — New York Times

Reader review:
I have been witnessing the miracles that would be benny’s artistic endeavors for the past two or three years, and let me be the first to tell you that his writing is truly amazing. there is wine, there is sex, there is love, there is joy, there is drama, there is pain, there is sensuality, and there is a depth that is impossible to fully grasp. his writing is sultry and you will never ever stop wanting to read it. even his “boring” blogs and “boring” poems are a good read. Benny is truly an amazing person and it shines through in his fantastic writings. the price is cheap and the quality is top! please, please support him! he deserves more than what this book costs! plus he’s going to be famous one day and won’t YOU be sad when you realize you didnt buy that super rare and out of print poetry book? so you’d better snatch it while it’s here!
Tunes: Lily Allen is the next big thing
Listen to Lily’s music after the jump. Also, SNL video after the jump. Watch it, before it’s pulled.
Tunes: Chester French and “The Jimmy Choos”
From the Chester French MySpace page:
Chester French is the creative partnership between Maxwell Drummey and D.A. Wallach, two 21 year-old seniors at Harvard. The duo has been writing and producing gorgeous pop records for the past 3 years, and is currently readying its forthcoming full-length album, “Love the Future.” Maxwell is from Boston and D.A. lives between Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Nevis, a tiny island in the West Indies. They study social anthropology and African-American Studies, respectively.
According to ArjanWrites:
The duo combines ’60s style songwriting with a sense of soul, intelligence and wit that is rarely found in pop music these days. Take for example the catchy “The Jimmy Choo’s,” a perky tune about “Miss Pristine” who keeps her man close at hand to buy herself pretty little things, like shoes. “She grabs all the cash from my paper stash. Yeah, she takes it all. Cheesecake, fake bake, disco ball. But she’s got me,” Wallach sings.
The song mixes up a myriad of styles and instruments to create a whole new brew that is invigorating and straight up fun. The duo even dares to experiment with the traditional pop structure of verse, chorus and bridge, which makes the song somewhat unpredictable and a joy to listen to far beyond your first few spins.
Arjan always is a great source for new talent and sounds. He also provides us with a download link for ”The Jimmy Choos.” You can also download more tunes from the Chester French MySpace page.
Web: Visual directory of Web 2.0 companies and products (and blogger ethics)

Go2Web2.0 featured @ TechCrunch.
Coup to be featured at TC, but be ready. This site came crashing down under the flood of traffic from TC.Â
One blogger asks about the relationship between blogger and featured companies at MichaelArrington Sucks. (Obviously a blog with an opinion, whether impartial or not, you can decide.) You will see that TC is the only featured advertiser on the site. MAS also alleges they (blogger and site owner) are in a relationship and trade “favors.” The owner of the site is also a powerful “digger.” Should that all be disclosed as well?
TC states that they will expressly state and disclose when there is an apparent conflict of interest; and I take them at their word on this point.Â
But, of course, the world of blogging has gone corporate. Posts are valuable real estate. And, perhaps inevitably, there are now businesses that even enable bloggers to sell posts to review advertiser products (with varying degrees of disclsoure).
I can’t help but be a little cynical about big bloggers. This is after all big business.
